Chardonnay
White, dry
A variety which shows what a region is capable of – a litmus test, a reference point. In our vineyards, it nicely reveals the influence of
the Mediterranean and the Alps and offers some exotics, enough body as well as classic continental freshness.
It offers the nose some buttery, mineral notes and finely integrated spices from maturation in wood. The mouth feel is full, firm, massive and at the
same time balanced with a firm structure. It has an ageing potential of up to ten years. Some vintages from the end of 1990s are at their best at the moment.
Ageing: 10 months in oak barrels.
Food: Frog-fish, more intensive fish taste. Also grill dishes, for example octopus.
